Product Solutions for Highest Energy Efficiency, Reliability and Long Service Life
Pumps are used in all industries for a wide variety of applications.
Wherever liquids are pumped, trouble-free and energy-efficient operation is essential.
To ensure this, every detail must be right. Schaeffler offers the appropriate Rolling Bearing solutions for this purpose.
The basis for the design of the bearing arrangement of liquid pumps is the operating data, primarily the effective bearing forces, speeds and lubrication conditions. The required bearing design, arrangement and load rating derive from this.
With our free online calculation services, you can carry out your own service life calculations of individual bearings or shaft models in order to select the optimum design.
The perfect system should have maximum availability.
Intelligent service solutions not only reduce costs, working time and risks, but also make user-friendly and safe work conditions possible. From intelligent condition monitoring, automatic lubricators and premium lubricants to Expert Services, Schaeffler as a competent partner offers comprehensive solutions for the entire life cycle of rolling bearings in liquid pumps.
The Service Solutions are essential building blocks for a competitive production of tomorrow.
Make maximum use of the service life of your bearings and avoid unplanned downtimes with the help of innovative solutions - even for units for which preventive or predictive measures have so far seemed too cost-intensive.
Pumps Must Work Reliably and Efficiently - No Matter Where !
This is where our Rolling Bearings take on a supporting role.
Pumps convey liquids from a state of lower pressure to a state of higher pressure, from a state of low geodetic level to a state of higher geodetic level or from an area of lower flow velocity to an area of higher flow velocity.
Two basic principles are distinguished: the displacement principle and the flow principle.
In centrifugal pumps, which represent the largest proportion in industrial use, the liquid enters axially and is set in motion by a pump impeller.
In the piston pump, the liquid is displaced in the cylinder by a moving piston.
Depending on the area of use, application and design, there are special requirements for the pump and its bearings.
Corresponding standards have been established for various pump designs and applications.
For water standard pumps, for example, DIN 24255, or ISO 2858 for chemical standard pumps.
The aim of standardization is primarily the standardization of connection dimensions, components and performance data for simple planning, operation and maintenance of the systems.
With regard to bearings, the objective of a reliable quality standard and good operational safety is described e.g. in ISO 9905, ANSI B73.1 or API 610.
These requirements can best be met by precisely matched system solutions based on high-quality Schaeffler standard bearings.
Products
X-life is the seal of quality for particularly high-performance products of the INA and FAG brands. X-life products are characterized by longer life and service life - the result of higher basic dynamic load ratings than the previous standard. This opens up completely new design possibilities and they make a significant contribution to improving the overall economy of the application. The reasons for this increase in performance are state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and improved internal designs. This leads to better and more uniform surfaces and contact areas and thus to optimized load distribution in the bearing. The better surfaces result in parallel advantages in friction and thus in temperature development and lubricant stress.
We keep the most common rolling bearings for pumps and electric motor bearings in a special stock program to ensure high availability.
Special pump-specific designs of standard bearings are included here.
-
For life greased Deep Groove Ball Bearings with 2Z seal and high temperature grease L069 resp. L207 and C3 radial clearance of the 62.. and 63 series
-
Matched Single Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings in UA and UB radial internal clearance of series 72 and 73 with MP as well as TVP cage
-
Sealed Double Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings with special greasing of series 32 and 33

-
In addition, standard designs of other types such as Cylindrical Roller Bearings, four point contact bearings, Spherical Roller Bearings, Tapered Roller Bearings or Needle Roller Bearings are included.
Maintenance and Services
Optimum Relubrication Prevents Unplanned Downtimes
The most common cause of premature bearing damage in rolling bearings is poor lubrication conditions. Aged rolling bearing grease, insufficient lubricant or contamination cause insufficient separation between the rolling elements and the rings during operation and thus increased wear. The choice of the right lubricant also plays a decisive role. Our ARCANOL program includes the rolling bearing grease MULTITOP, a high-quality standard lubricant that has proven itself for a wide range of pumps. For somewhat higher temperature requirements, our ARCANOL TEMP90 is suitable and guarantees extended relubrication intervals at high temperatures. To ensure that the right amount of lubricant reaches the rolling bearing at all times, Schaeffler also offers a comprehensive range of automatic lubricators from the Concept Series.
Engineering Tools
The basis for the design of suitable bearings for liquid pumps is the operating data, primarily the effective bearing forces, speeds and lubrication conditions.
The required bearing design, arrangement and load rating derive from this.
With our free online Calculation Services, you can perform your own service life calculations of individual bearings or shaft models in order to select the optimum design and arrangement for you and your application.
During the concept phase, usually only a llittle data for the calculation of the rolling bearings are available, such as the speed and roughly estimated bearing forces. In order to be able to carry out a simple individual bearing calculation. With this information, Schaeffler offers the option of starting a calculation directly for the selected product. This tool allows you to quickly and easily determine whether the selected bearing is basically suitable for the requirements.
Once the design of the pump is largely complete, a detailed Recalculation of the rolling bearings should be carried out on a system basis to ensure that the intended bearings will achieve the required rating life. This calculation can be performed step-by-step with our free Bearinx-online Easy Pump program. The program is intuitively designed so that no training is required apart from basic knowledge of rolling bearings.
Furthermore, you will find a Bearing Frequency Calculator (rollover frequencies), a Bearing Selection Assistant, a Grease Selection Tool and the Heating Manager in our Engineering Tools, which will support you during mounting.
